What a creative group, that Clay Club at the beautiful Rossmoor community digs in Walnut Creek, CA. The inspiration abounds here. As I alit from the truck upon arrival, a few Canadian Geese flew overhead coming from the nearby creek.

We’re getting ready for a pit! The Clay Club has their very own, pre-dug, ready to use pit. We talked about the best shapes, clays, forms, and surface treatments for greenware for their pit.

The members burnished and shined using stones, spoons, terra sig, plastic bags… these gals had all the tricks.

That’s Tom Mull and me. Check out his pots. (He also is a fantastic cook and baker!!!)

These gals don’t like to admit their experience, but they had so many beautiful pieces in progress. This pit will contain a lot of treasures.
Next week: bisque! Tom and I can hardly wait.

I love it! Yep, I must admit that you ladies have an energy that keeps me pumped and I can’t wait to get together again this coming Saturday! It’s a pleasure working with you!
Tom and Julia are awesome teachers. Not just their enthusiasm and knowledge but their love of all that is clay makes them so much fun. It is a pleasure to share a space with them.
