The Julia Terr Fund for Ceramics raised money thanks to the many generous friends and family who contributed over the past nine months. The first project was the building of a soda-salt kiln at Penland School of Crafts in Penland, North Carolina — a place that nourished and inspired Julia in her own ceramic journey. In April, I traveled to North Carolina where I was privileged to work with some great friends - Katie Wilson, Paul Wisotzky, Denise Shoukas, Nora Thomas, Anna Ronis, and Cynthia Bringle. The kiln was designed by Mark Peters who guided us in the building.
Here is a link to a video summary of the four days we spent building the kiln:

Thanks to Paul for the great video.
Many thanks to all our friends who helped build the kiln and to all those who contributed to the fund.

Love,
Vince

What a perfect tribute to Julia. Gives me chills.
I am interested in somehow contributing toward a future project in her honor. Anything coming up? She shined so brightly during her life.
